(It was revealed in All Hail King Julien that he is at least more than 50 years old. He is an incredibly cute and somewhat innocent and annoying mouse lemur, although his age is not confirmed. Mortdecai (commonly known as Mort) is a main protagonist in All Hail King Julien.
Homelander and King Julien themselves have both blatantly parodied Trump in these shows.( Madagascar 2: The Video Game & 3 Video Games) " Feet!" ~Mort While not either’s original media, both have streaming service exclusive TV shows featuring blatant political commentary and parodies. They each have: a reasonable and serious black “best friend” (Black Noir and Maurice) who they have a falling out with (killing Noir and Maurice seeming disappointed that Julien didn’t die in Madagascar 3), a red headed warrior woman who tries to keep them in check (Maeve and Clover), and a butt monkey degenerate (The Deep and Mort).
Both have numerous similarities in their social inner circles. Homelander sees himself as superior to everyone else, above normal humans, while Julien is often seen putting himself on the same level as his people. They each replaced an older relative who would later come back and try to kill them (Soldier Boy and Uncle King Julien). Support from their black “best friends” would shape who they would become afterwards (Black Noir helped Homelander hide what happened, setting him on the path to become the monster seen in the show, and Maurice encouraged Julien to take responsibility and rescue his people, putting him on the right track to become one of the greatest lemur kings). Homelander would fail to rescue the hostages and Julien would get his entire kingdom captured. This naivety would backfire on the first days of their careers. They were both raised in artificial environments (Homelander in a lab and Julien was raised believing he was the best student in school because the others had to let him win everything), and because of this grew up naive. Both tend to be egotistical, lazy, impulsive, and dramatic. Both strongly crave adoration and admiration, but while Julien needs his subjects to love him, Homelander is willing to use fear to make people obey him. Both are some of if not the most powerful (King Julien politically, Homelander physically) characters in their settings, and because of this they can get away with doing almost whatever they want.
