As a result of changes made to the data feed, the app is no longer able to support the technical requirements of both the ATP and WTA,” a statement reads. “The ATP and WTA have announced the discontinuation of the ATP/WTA Live Scores App across all mobile and desktop platforms. In the New Year two separate systems for the ATP and WTA will be offered instead, prompting a backlash from fans across social media. The App, produced by EDH Tennis Limited, was launched a few years ago and is available in 19 different languages on the Apple store, serving as the official live scoring app for both the ATP and WTA Tours, as well as providing play schedules and match stats for all the pro tournaments.ĭespite its popularity, tennis chiefs have decided to scrap the App because of ‘changes to the data feed’, which apparently make it no longer feasible. By my count, for fans to follow the live scores of sanctioned professional tennis events for a year would now take at least NINE different apps. The disappearance of this app would help no one, including people on site. There is uproar from avid tennis fans on learning that the popular ATP/WTA Live Scores App, the game’s leading leading mobile results app, is being axed for 2021.
